CROCKPOT APPLE SAUCE
About 3 pounds apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/3 cup sugar
1 cinnamon stick
2 TBS lemon juice
nutmeg
Put apples in cooker, sprinkle w/sugar and add cinnamon stick. Sprinkle lemon juice on. Cover and cook on low for 6 1/2 to 8 hours til apples form a thick sauce.
Sprinkle with nutmeg to taste.
Haggis
Chop a sheep’s tongue, liver and heart and 1 pound of bacon. Add 2 large chopped onions; season with 1/4 teaspoonful of red pepper and 1 teaspoonful of mixed herbs and salt to taste. Mix with 1 pint of toasted oatmeal, 2 beaten eggs and the grated rind and juice of a lemon. Then clean the pouch of the sheep and fill with the mixture. Lay in boiling water and let boil three hours. Serve with apple-sauce.
Apple and Raisin Sauce
1 c Apple Sauce
1/2 c Apple Butter
1/2 c Raisins
1/2 c Maple Syrup
Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until bubbly. Makes 2 1/4 cups of sauce.
